Siberian Ice Maiden Tattoo T-shirt
This design is based on a tattoo found on the Ukok Princess, or the Siberian Ice Maiden.
Discovered in 1993 at the Republic of Altai, Russia, the woman was placed within a kurgan or burial mound and dated to the 5th century BC. The princess was representative of the Pazyryk culture that thrived between the 6th and 2nd centuries BC in the Siberian steppe. Her coffin was made of a solid larch wood tree trunk decorated with leather appliqués depicting deer figures. The tattoos found on the body of the princess were extensive and displayed animals associated with Pazyryk decorations found on wall carpets and clothing.
